Care for the Family is a national charity which aims to promote strong family life and to help those hurting because of family breakdown. We do this through events, resources, training and networks of befrienders.

 Facilitator Training Modules

 Positive Parenting "Time Out" series of programmes make a practical difference to parents throughout the UK.  To deliver any of these programmes you will need to be a licensed facilitator.

This licence is available to those who have completed:

  • Care for the Family's Facilitating Groups and Working with Parents modules
    OR
  • are fully trained to the National Occupational Standards for Work with Parents (Working with Parents qualification) at Level 3 or above
    OR
  • have completed a minimum of four days training in group work skills and essential parenting theory provided by another approved training provider.

Care for the Family have developed practical and research based modular training to equip people with the skills and understanding to work with parents.  Our training is interactive and practical.  Training is available at special rates for individuals and voluntary organisations and is being delivered regularly throughout the UK.

 

 * If you have completed previous training which covers these areas, with a recognised provider, it may not be necessary for you to attend this module. See APL (Approved Previous Learning) information.

 

Facilitating Groups Module

Those attending will gain an understanding of key theories and skills and to be confident to work with adult groups either to deliver a formal programme or work more informally.  

Modular Fee:

  • Statutory rate: £295.00 inc VAT
  • Voluntary/individual: £225.00 inc VAT
  • OCN accreditation fee (optional) : £95.00

Working with Parents Module

This module is mapped to the revised 2011 National Occupational Standards for Working with Parents. Those attending will gain an understanding of the importance of the parent/child relationship, including attachment theory, parenting styles and managing behaviour.  They will also understand key principles of working with parents either in groups or in a one to one supportive role.

Modular Fee:

  • Statutory rate: £350.00 inc VAT this fee will include a manual of your choice from one of the Core programmes (value £59)
  • Voluntary/individual: £275.00 inc VAT this fee will include a manual for one of the Core programmes
  • OCN accreditation fee (optional): £95.00

Children with Special Needs familiarisation day

 To become a Licensed facilitator for Time Out for Parents: Children with Special Needs, you must complete a familiarisation day to fully equip you to run this specialist course.

Modular Fee:

  • £150.00 inc VAT this fee will include a "Children with Special Needs" manual  (value £59)

Approved Prior Learning (APL)

As part of the process for Facilitator Licenses , we may be able to approve prior learning of other training for both the Facilitating Groups and Working with Parents modules .  The training you successfully completed will need to have been through a recognised provider at Level 3 or equivalent and covering the essential topics in each module.  Please Click Here to complete the APL form.
